BENTLEY PISTONS.

I believe these pistons are bought outside but whether RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Inspectors check them I am not aware.

Kingsbury have just received a new cylinder block complete with pistons. The pistons being measured up were found to be taper on the skirt portion, and the bottom edge of the pressures side were exactly 3.5 inches tapering up to minus .004" at the top of the skirt. They have usually .003" clearance at the bottom of the skirt. Fitting the pistons in the bores they were on the tight side, for approximately .5 up the skirt. Will you please say whether this is a later modification.
