B-56-BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Rear Axle.

On examination of Rear Brakes on the above axle, the following points were noted :-

Near Side.

Split pin was missing in Toggle Jaw. This appears to have got between the Brake Liners and Drum, as these are scored locally.

Brake Strap cracked across the section of Pull off Spring anchorage on one strap only.

New Brake Drums were changed over at Kingsbury, and would surmise that when toggles were adjusted to suit the new drums, split pin was fitted but not opened out.
