S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X9037 CWB3/GM/2.11.27. PETROL FILTERS. During the recent Motor Show I became involved in a discussion on carburettors with a Mr. A.{Mr Adams} G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Ionides, whom I think you know, and this led to a discussion of petrol filters. I was surprised to hear that Mr. Ionides had experienced exactly the same trouble with his Polyrhoe carburettor which we are suffering from with our 20 h.p. i.e. stoppage of the low speed jet with fine hairs. After trying all sorts of filtering media, including chamois leather, he finally succeeded in obtaining a perfect filter from this point of view, which is composed of a special felt, and by permission of Messrs. Vauxhall to which he is now attached in a consulting capacity, he has now sent me a specimen of this filter which I think may be of some interest to you. If necessary, I can easily obtain the manufacturers name etc. etc. I am forwarding the specimen filter to you under separate cover and attach a letter from Mr. Ionides regarding it. CWB. | ||
