Private Line to Crewe (Struck through)

The teleprinter service, which is very costly was expressly installed so as to relieve the pressure on the private telephone line. There is no doubt that a large number of prolonged telephone conversations which now take place between the two Factories could just as conveniently be transmitted over the teleprinter system. In point of fact it is more convenient to use the teleprinter system as a reply can be guaranteed within a short time, whereas with the present state of affairs on the private line there is no guarantee of service.

Will you please instruct all your staff to get into the habit of using the teleprinter more and the private line less.

Also, will everyone please use the teleprinter to Glasgow whenever possible, so as to avoid the use of long distance calls.
