Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr.R.W.Harvey Bailey.

Thermostatic Oil Valve.

With reference to the above, we have examined the proposed construction and have the following comments to make:

The use of capsules of the diameter indicated is not recommended on the ground of their lack of flexibility and the great risk of leakage on the may joined surfaces. Such small capsules would also be difficult to fill constantly.

We are producing a drawing which we will send to you tomorrow, exhibiting another form of construction employing a small flexible bellows and we think you will agree that this will be more suitable. In the event of this construction being approved of by you, and in order to arrive at the exact thrust figure required, we should be obliged for the following information:-

1. The direction of the oil flow through the valve port.

2. The pressure of oil in the chamber which holds the Thermostat, taken as at 50° Centigrade.

Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
