We gather from the above that the 9 coil spring governor is correct. We have re-examined all three and find that the governor marked N.8.B.W. i.e. the one handed to me is the correct one, this having a 9 coil spring and not 7 as inadvertently stated. The governor handed to I.Waller has 7 coils and is therefore the incorrect one.

As requested, we have examined the two special governors and find that they both have advance stops as shown on Drawing EB.2832, but we also note that the standard governor frame has advance stops as well and conforms to the same drawing, and not to Drawing E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 60879 which shows the standard frame without the stops. There is therefore some mistake here.

We have however, nearly completed the tests, using all the governors and will forward you a full report in due course.
