X7300 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn{Mr Robinson}2/LG23.11.28. 'SS{S. Smith}' CLUTCH. X7300 On dismantling the 'SS{S. Smith}' clutch, we find that an excessive quantity of oil has got on the friction surfaces. As oil is almost invariably put in the clutch shaft when the car is stationary, it is not safe to rely entirely on centrifugal action to prevent oil getting to the ferodo. We therefore recommend that the lip is increased in size and that the number of drain holes is increased. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/An. | ||
