PY. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} (At Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL MAYBACH AND OTHER PATENT ROYALTIES. R2/14.4.31. RECEIVED x523 x2200 I quite agree with BY5/G30.3.31., re. Maybach jaws. So far we have not had much success with these. Anyway we should not feel like paying either £1500. or £4. 12. 6. per chassis. We would rather put the money in extra work in the designs. According to what Mr. Ricardo tells me his firm does not demand in royalty such a relatively high price - i.e. for his combustion chamber on a 4 litre engine they charge £1. 5/- per litre. We can use the same as Bentley is adopting if we wish. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
