Crankcase and Bearings LOP.No.1437.
Main bearings in R/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore}

The caps of Nos.2 and 4 main bearings were removed for inspection after 14,000 miles running and found to be in good condition. All main bearings were in good condition when stripped at the end of the mileage, but the thrust face of No.7 had collapsed slightly.

Spring Drive (LOP.No.142).

Mod. to No.485. 8 .093" holes to improve oiling.

Damping load set at 17 lbs. at 1 7/8" rad.

This was examined after 14,320 miles. The cotton danke and friction surfaces were in good condition and the poundage as set. This was reduced from 17 lbs. to 10 lbs. by means of non standard weaker springs, which were run for the rest of the mileage. The reduction in load made no noticeable difference to the engine smoothness or timing gear rattle. The condition when stripped was very good, but the poundage had fallen to 8 lbs. 10 to 15 lbs. is to be used for production.

Pistons LOP.R.607.1.
Standard 25/30 production.

In good condition and free from scuffing and cracks when examined after 14,000 miles running and at the end of the mileage.

Connecting Rods. LOP.No.1437.

Big end bearings in R.C.6 machined from billet.
Nos. 1, 3, 5 flanged. Nos.2, 4, 6 not flanged.

The big end bearings were in excellent condition when examined at 14,000 miles, and when finally stripped.
