-2- Bentley 5. with Normal Standard Saloon Body. The Front. Same in general as that of the air flow car, but if it is necessary, it can be higher. Coachwork. Similar to that on our design PD.206 attached herewith. The height and width etc. must not be modified, but the lines can be blended in order to suit the new front. Bentley 5D. with Standard Bodies. The Front. The same as that for the Bentley 5 standard car, but higher because of the increased height of the coachwork. Coachwork. There are two types of coachwork having four or six lights. If necessary, it must be possible to have rising division as indicated on the designs PD.279 and PD.280, but normally there will be sliding seats. --- There are therefore four cars of which studies have to be made and scale drawings. In order to illustrate the new front it will be necessary to make artistic illustrations in perspective as well as a front elevation. For the cars with normal standard bodies, one does not expect a co-efficient Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} less than .600, but for the air flow car one wishes the co-efficient much lower. With 91.500 h.p. (French) at the rims the car must lap Montlhery at 160 Km/hr. under all circumstances. After having completed the designs of the new front, and of the air flow Bentley 5, we think it would be a good idea if you were to send these to Derby before finishing the other designs, so that we can give you our criticisms.
