Dear Sirs,

E.O.6 Magneto.
Breakdown of H.T. Collector Brush Holder.

In reply to your letter of the 20th.inst., we beg to say that we have looked into the matter of the high tension collector brush holders referred to in your letters of the 7th. and 16th.inst. The two collector brush holders in question are some of the earlier ones of this type, a very small number of which are in use, as immediately we found one of these burn out we increased the amount of insulation by enlarging the hole in the metal plate, and so far as we have been able to tell this has been quite effective. We have, however, designed a new brush holder without the metal plate. The moulds for this have been in hand for some considerable time, but are now practically completed, and we hope to be able to send you a sample brush holder to-morrow.

In view of this modification we do not think you will wish to proceed with the further tests suggested in your letter of the 20th.inst., and we feel sure that when you have seen the new brush holder you will be quite satisfied that there is no possibility of the insulation breaking down.

Yours faithfully,

NORTH & SONS LIMITED.

Director.
