Dear Major Cox,

May we offer you the assistance of our engineers in dealing with the perplexing problem of interference radiation from motor engines.

Recently, the Government of the Federated Malay States passed legislation compelling all motor cars now on the road, as well as new ones imported into the F.M.S. to have adequate shielding to prevent radiation of electrical disturbances, for such radiation interferes with short wave reception.

Immediately, two British Car Manufacturers interested in this market, sought our advice as to the best method of overcoming this problem, and we are glad to say that we were successful in designing for them an inexpensive method of shielding, which in no way impaired the running or the accessibility of the car engine.

It was found that sparking plug and distributor suppressors were only partially successful in eliminating the interference, whereas the new method developed by us was 100% successful, and at a fraction of the cost.

Undoubtedly the time is not far distant when similar legislation will be passed in other countries, since the radiation of interference from the electrical equipment of any motor car, 'bus, truck, refrigerator, neon sign, tram cables, etc., which has not been
