PISTON RINGS.

With reference to the fact that the Wellworthy Ring does not appear to scrape oil as well as the Brico, a matter which I have taken up and dealt with in a previous memo, pressing for deliveries of "Brico" rings, to help us at the moment, I wish to make it plain that in my opinion it is not a question of want of accuracy, in the Wellworthy ring, so far as I can see at the moment. Personally, I am inclined to think that the Wellworthy is the more accurate ring of the two, but it appears to me that the Brico is slightly incorrect in certain directions, and such inaccuracies assist the action that we are looking for. This is a matter I propose the Experimental Dept. should make a check or two on, and I am supplying them with the necessary information.
