We have now completed our first Limousine Ph.III to the production specification. The weight of this car complete with petrol, oil, 2 spare wheels and tools, is 53 cwts. The weight of the last Limousine Ph.II experimental car we had was 51 cwts. 1 qr. 14 lbs. We are concerned that the Ph.III complete car should start off 1 1/2 cwts. heavier than the Ph.II because in our experience chassis weights invariably rise, particularly if an endeavour is made to get some cost out of the job by reducing machining operations. We are endeavouring to get out a weight analysis to see where our increase has come from. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
