ROLLS-ROYCE SPECIFICATION FOR DIE CASTINGS (ALUMINIUM ALLOY)

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION

Copper 1% to 6%
Zinc 1% to 8%
Tin. Max 1.5%
Silicon " 0.5%
Iron " 0.6%
Manganese " 0.1%
Magnesium " 0.1%

The composition should be
such that (half Zinc) + Copper +
3 Iron should not exceed the
value 8.0

Brinell as cast in 1" round mould at 350°C (about) should be 60 to 80 and it should give the mechanical tests below
