Ongoing faults and proposed modifications for a chassis, including issues with the propellor shaft, gear lever, and oil feed.

4- Propellor Shaft Vibration at 40/50 m.p.h. This trouble occurs on some chassis, particularly when car is fully loaded. It is much improved by replacing the existing center bearing mounting by the isolated mounting to GCD.1481. We have made 12 sets of parts for use on production chassis. One of these has been sent to Sr. for chassis B.12.AW. and the remainder will be handed to J.RD. We attach a print of GCD.1481 which shows the frame drilling.

5- Gear lever inclined to stick when being moved across the gate. This is eliminated by putting chamfers on the lower end of the change gear pendulum lever as shown on attached Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 621.

6- The L.O.P's call for a ZE2 drip elbow at the point where the bijur oil feed enters the front suspension yokes. This is incorrect as the oil is again metered at the top and bottom of the pivot pins. These elbows should be of the straight thru type without metering restrictions.

In addition to the above pints, modifications are necessary to overcome the following faults.

a:-Starting carburettor freezing up.

b:-Main battery cable under frame crossmember is in vulnerable position.

c:-Speedometer and rev. counter drives noisy and causing fluctuations of needles. Cures for the above are at present being detailed and as soon as they are available we will let you have them.
