<500a To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}13/KW.18.4.35. 21-G-IV. We note that you wish to test a new type of big end bearing without the shin on 21-G-IV. This is perfectly O.K. but we should still like to have a groove put in the rod and not in the top half shell of the bearing. Will you also please drill the connecting rods for piston lubrication as per the attached sketch. At the same time will you please drill the gudgeon pin bush with a .125" hole at the top where the rifle drilling at present passes through the extreme end of the rod. The object of this is to increase the lubrication to the gudgeon pin. We may lose some by drilling this small hole for piston lubrication inside the rod.
