SIXTH BROOKLANDS REPORT.

We have now completed a series of tests on six different types of radiator core. We adopted three standard tests including one with the louvred bonnet at max. speed as being the highest air velocity we are likely to attain through the radiator.

We did not include the 6/7 m.m. original P.II. matrix in the tests as it is not a practical propisition due to blocking up troubles.

Summarising the results we get :-

(1) Parallel square tube 6 mm. E.81385.

This radiator shews up the best of any though it does not quite come up to our expectations.

It is 7.75° better than standard at 60 M.P.H. 11.25° better at maximum speed no ventilation, and 7.5° better than standard at maximum speed with a louvred bonnet. The fact that its efficiency does not fall much with the maximum air velocity through the radiator seems to indicate that even with the best conditions of ventilation, we have not appreciably exceeded the optimum amount of indirect cooling. At slow speeds full throttle the square tube radiator again shews an improvement of 6 - 8° over standard but we are
