In view of this scheme becoming standard, it should be noted that the lubricating scheme should be deleted, because in cold weather the pinion will not engage due to the oil becoming congealed on the thread.
We are of the opinion that the present method used in production (i.e. well lubricating all parts before erecting) is sufficient.
We were under the impression that this feature had been pointed out to the D.O. but apparently there has been some misunderstanding.
