Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of the 1st instant we enclose herewith amended drawing, CDS.765, showing the proposed 5.00-18 type N2 wire wheel, on which we now include the inflated and deflected outline of the 7.00-18 tyre. The dimensions given on this print should now enable you to check whether sufficient clearance obtains at all points between the wheel and tyre and the chassis. If more clearance is required, an increase in track up to ½" per wheel can satisfactorily be accommodated. In regard to your final paragraph, we have no experience of the open bead type of rim in the size proposed, its use in this Country having so far been confined to Extra Low Pressure equipment with a tyre seat diameter of 16" and under.
