REDUCED SIDE LAMP ILLUMINATION FOR PARKING.

Replying to your Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}16/E.29.1.34., it is quite a simple matter to arrange a small resistance unit behind the instrument board which could be switched in circuit with the side lamps when leaving the car parked.

The reason we have not considered such an arrangement necessary, is that we always recommend the smallest obtainable lamp bulb i.e., 4 watt which only represents, with side and tail lamp on, a discharge of 1 ampere from the battery. Also with the new vibrator controlled dynamo scheme the battery always receives extra charge when partially discharged.

We are however arranging to rig up a resistance unitand switch on an experimental chassis for trial.
