Dal/M29.10.23.

Mr. Hardy and I went to look at the Hispano car at Barkers last week, but we were not able to try it as it was not in a runnable condition. Mr. Royce wanted us to, and we also very much wished to try the effect of this car on the road.

I understand from C. that you are going to have the loan of this car for a day, and we wonder whether it would be possible for us to try it at the same time. I believe Mr. Royce would like you to bring it down here, and this may be your intention, but if not, and you get the car during the Show it might be possible for Mr. Hardy and I to meet you somewhere.

Mr. Royce has agreed to buy a second-hand Hispano, and very nearly gave us definite instructions to buy one when we went to Barkers if there was one there. However there was not one. Do you consider that it is very essential that we should buy one and test it? For instance, there is one going at Preston this week which seems comparatively cheap if the condition is anything-like.
