A.{Mr Adams} Robotham Dear Mr. Robotham: Please refer further to your letter of August 4th, to which we replied under date of August 23rd, concerning the material we are quoting you on certain sizes of brake linings for use on your cars. We wish to apologize for the delay in writing you further concerning this matter, but this delay was caused by several circumstances. In the first place the blue-prints you submitted covered certain special sizes of brake lining which we have not made previously, and therefore we did not have the necessary mold equipment to manufacture these as quickly as we usually do. All of the pieces had to be made by hand and we were not satisfied with several lots which we manufactured, and made them over. In fact, the samples we sent you, which have all been made by hand, do not have a good appearance as if they were manufactured in the correct mold. These pieces if made in the correct size mold would have a much better appearance then those we sent you. The samples sent covered twelve pieces of each blue-print number except on two sizes, your print GB-751 and GB-752 of which we only sent ten pieces of each. This was due to the fact that we were not quite satisfied with some of these pieces of this particular part number with the result that our Inspection Department threw out two pieces of each size, as they were not quite satisfied with the finish. Rather than delay the shipment of this order, as it has been considerably delayed, we thought it best to supply the ten pieces of each part number.
