Referring to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}9/MJ.14.4.31 relative to the two left-handed experimental cars, you will remember that, when I saw you recently, I mentioned that we want a new demonstration car for Paris and should like to have one available for them in time for the Paris Show. They are still using their original P.II.

The two left-handed experimental cars are in any case bad stock and it would be very helpful if we could give one of them to Paris.

It would have to be 25-EX, I think, because of the body - 24-EX being unsuitable for a trials car.

I appreciate that 25-EX is shortly going for a 10,000 miles test. Nevertheless I believe that it could still be used for this purpose.

The body would have to come off and be sent to the coachbuilders to be completely done up and the chassis could be overhauled with the idea of having the complete car available to go to Paris not later than the middle of September.

I should be glad to hear whether you see any difficulty in carrying out this programme.
