[Handwritten] E.F.C See Hays Ery EFC {E. Magnetos ------------------------------------ We appear to be getting into rather a serious position owing to lack of supplies of E0.6. Magnetos. At present there are 14 chassis in the Test Dept. which are without their magnetos owing to our having turned them down for faults, and returned them to Sft {Mr Swift} - also there are several magnetos in this Department which we are only running on sufferance, because we must have some means of ignition for running the engines. We presume that these rejected magnetos are being returned to the Makers, and that the matter has been taken up with Norths. In the meantime we are at a loss to suggest what should be done, especially as very shortly the EW.6. magneto should be fitted as standard. Possibly, although we are not at all satisfied with the EW.6. Magneto, Ey. will consider our fitting this type of machine to the chassis at present on test and agree to their being despatched with same - this in view of the considerable trouble at present being experienced with E0.6. Magnetos, and in view of the fact that no replacements are available. Mx {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} | ||
