H.R. 493a (50 H) (I.D. 31, 12-6-25) J.H.D. X8900 EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. Expl. No. REF: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG21.12.25 To CWB. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 11-EX 8-EX CAR. X8770 CWB1/ED{J. L. Edwards}19.12.25. Lubrication. We satisfied ourselves, before 8-EX car left here, that the lubrication was satisfactory. It is expected when the 'L' shaped rings are working effectively that there should not be much oil getting past the pistons at the same time the fitting portion of the pistons will be well lubricated. Also, as we know that each ring does its share of scraping, there should be plenty of oil on the rings. You will get a definite indication of the oil when you measure the oil consumption. The black powdery deposit on the plugs will certainly be the effect of the starter carburetter but it should burn off with running. In case there are any definite indications of shortage of oil we would recommend that you increase the oil pressure. We do not think this will be necessary. Before the car leaves for France we should like to change the luggage grid. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
