Messrs; The Adamant Engineering Co.Ltd.,
Dallow Road,
Luton.

For the attention of Commdr. Matravers.

Dear Sirs,

We are writing to confirm the arrangements which Mr. Goodall & the writer made with you on the occasion of our visit on the 9th inst.

Concerning the cams which you are supplying to our Production Dept., it was agreed that you should (a) omit the buffing operation, (b) grind the bearing cones before final broaching of the bore instead of after, and (c) send us 12 25/30 H.P. cams made in this way as soon as possible.

It was also arranged that you should send us 6 cams to M.22166 finished in the same way for experimental purposes.

In connection with the suggestion that we should try the Gemmer method of fixing cams to tubes it was arranged that you should send us drawings showing particulars of the cam bore and the end of the tube which you propose, and that you should supply us with two Phantom III cams with bores of this type. We wish to alter this arrangement in so far as we prefer the two trial cams to be of the smaller type to M.22166, and that they should form part of the batch of six mentioned above.

Our order office will send you an order for these six cams in due course.

We wish to thank you for your kind hospitality to Mr. Goodall and the writer.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
