15th. June, 1939.

Messrs. Skefco Ball Bearing Co.Ltd.,
66, Mansfield Road,
Nottingham.

For the attention of Mr. Lillis.

Dear Sirs,

Further to our 'phone call yesterday we are sending you a Skefco race removed from one of our water pumps after approximately 50 hours running. As you will observe it is in rather poor condition.

With regard to the bearings left with Mr. Steadman records of these appear to be mislaid, and we are unable to say whether the race we are sending is one of the latest batch or not. Doubtless you will be able to distinguish between the various types.

As you mentioned yesterday, we should be very interested to have your works report on this bearing, and we should also like to try any new developments which you have produced recently. If, therefore, you have any bearings that you could send on, we should like three, and will forward an official order as soon as we hear from you.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
