CAST IRON ENGINES.

As we pointed out in our recent report, we believe that we are going to make a success of the High Power project.

A conventional engine has, however, been detailed to go on the High Power crankcase.

So far we have worked with one pattern only, and from it made sixes and eights. This, however, is not entirely practical and, in consequence, in any case we now need a new pattern.

The question is, therefore, when we make the new pattern shall we make it so that, if necessary, we can get from it a conventional as well as a high-power engine.

The cost of such an insurance policy is £300. We hope that we may never even have to make a casting of this engine, but nevertheless consider that it is worth spending this money to ensure that we have a line Eight to offer to the public without fail in 1940.

Unless, therefore, we hear to the contrary, the patterns will be put in hand.
