W/P - Sr. c. to Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} X1265 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/KW.4.4.36. B-1-CW - Excessive Oil Consumption. With reference to Sr/VA.10/GM.30.3.36, we note what you say about this car, and agree with you that it will probably have to be rebored before it can be sold. With a view to getting information as to the most economical way of dealing with cars which are overoiling in customers' hands, we should like to send you some special rings for test on this car before you change the bearings, pistons, etc. The idea is that if these rings make a material difference in the oil consumption, they might be an economical way of dealing with customers' complaints. We hope we shall be able to let you have the rings during the course of the next few days. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
