HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X7270 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M31.12.29. X.7940 X.7270 X.4522 10,000 MILES TEST. In reply to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/l/MJ 231229., we are doing the switch for operating the rear light by the gear lever in reverse. As regards the starting handle we thought this was so eminently a job to be done on the actual car, that is, a speciment starting handle tried up in various positions to see where it will go best, and that we asked Derby some little while ago to do the preliminary work and send us the result. We have not had a Phantom 2. car here for some little while. we will ascertain what has been done. With reference to the bumpers we have made several enquiries both in England and America for information regarding bumpers which might be standardised. We have some rather out-of-date information from America; we expect to get some newer stuff in the course of a short while. As regards the English bumpers EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} has gone up to town today with the intention of bringing back information from the leading coachbuilders.
