1032 Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GR.{George Ratcliffe}2/JH. 23rd June, 1937. Messrs. The Zenith Carburettor Co.Ltd., Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, Middlesex. For the attention of Mr.A.E.Palmer. Dear Sirs, Phantom III E.E.C.42 Carburettors. We find that the above carburettors flood very badly when a pressure feed of 2¼ to 2½ lbs.sq.in. is applied. Our tests show that 100% seating minimum friction and a float that is well emersed essential. In order to achieve this required 3 hours or more on our carburettor alone. As we are proposing to use a pressure feed of 2¼ to 2½ lbs.sq.in. in future this matter is in urgent need of attention. We would be pleased to see your Mr. Fisher at the earliest possible moment. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
