I was interested to note that the vapour lock is due to percolation as I suspected.

Will you try and find out what you have to do with the carburetter float chamber drain pipe in order to get over the trouble ?

The oil consumption is alarming. I think you should definitely block up the extra lubrication holes in the connecting rods on one of these cars and see if it makes any difference. When we soldered them up here we shook the solder pieces off. Perhaps the simplest way is to put a wooden peg in the holes up the connecting rod.

The other thing we have got on the move is the heavier section piston rings with reduced land width. If you call on Brooks, at the Light Production Co's. works at Slough, you can find out what he is doing.

I do not know whether you can give us any idea of the average speeds, or whether the London traffic conditions make this difficult, but it would help us to form an idea of the oil consumption.
