X7791 EFC7/T. 14th March, 1928. Messrs. North & Sons Ltd., Whippendell Road, Watford. Dear Sirs, Watford EW.6. Magnetos. Merely for your convenience of reference to the points contained in this letter, we have considered it worth while to number the paragraphs. (1) We do not appear to have received from you an answer to our enquiry concerning the angular location of the distributor rotor, contained in ours of the 31st. January. (2) We should like to know from you if you are in a position to alter the four EW6. magnetos, Nos.100082, 100093/6/7, to continuous cam rings, so as to be similar to the one machine No.106012 brought by Mr. North recently. You will already have been approached on this matter by our Order Office. (Probably) (3) On trial of the make and break timing of No.106012 as affected by length of gap, we found that this continuous cam was not arranged for the slow make as suggested by ourselves, though we understood from Mr. North that we should find that this was so. We agree, however, that the continuous cam ring is in any case or inherently quieter than the built-up cam ring on previous machines. (4) We should be pleased to have back at your convenience the Lucas magneto which we loaned to you for inspection. (5) We are anxious to know if you can do anything to stop the rapid wear of the contact points on this type of magneto. Have you, for instance, considered the use of tungsten, even experimentally, though we agree that | ||
