With reference to GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}'s report as to the side spare wheel carrier we have never had a technical report on the schemes for stiffening the side wheel carrier which have been sent from here. These include N. 3356. and the one stiffening the carrier by means of the dash - N. scheme 3358. By this we mean that we have never had a report showing us precisely where the flexibility took place.

We understand that on the Phantom similar stays are satisfactory. (internal stays)

With regard to N. sch. 3356. it would appear that we cannot tolerate the movement and it may be necessary to turn the stay round so that it bends instead of turning on the pins. With the reinforced bracket shown on N. sch. 3356. this should be satisfactory as regards strength.
