(4) Minute No 3. Bentley - removal of fan belt. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} asked if the scheme for enabling the fan belt to be removed could be adopted immediately. It was agreed that there would be no difficulty about this point and Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} asked to be informed how soon it could be put on production and how much scrap would be involved. Minute No. 4. Specification of 10,000 miles test car. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} commenced to go over the new parts to be fitted and tested on the next 10,000 miles test car. He said he was particularly anxious to see incorporated:- (1) Battery box crossmember moved back for increased rear seating capacity. (2) Dropped front crossmember. (3) Controlled dampers. (4) Hoffmann rear axle thrust bearing. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said that it was rather difficult to draw up a complete specification for this car as the items required varied in the light of experience gained by current development. He said that work had not commenced on building the new 10,000 miles test chassis and it appeared as if it would be advisable to carry out the test in two halves. An existing car could be modified to incorporate the new urgent features required for 'C' series, such as 'controlled dampers' and the second car to follow on at a later date would incorporate the remaining features which would be required for the following series. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} pointed out that owing to the high rate of production these tests should be going ahead as quickly as possible. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} asked that Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} and E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} should get together and arrive at a specification for these cars. Minute No 5. 21-G-IV 20/25 HP. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} asked when 21-G-IV would be ready to start its 10,000 test. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said he did not intend to rush the car out because more valuable experience was being gained and more work was being carried out in England on the two main items viz. the new carburetter and controlled dampers, than could be done in France. He said that these two new features were to be fitted to Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s new car and he also wished sales | ||
