EB.2044 Suspension Tube Pivot.
EB.2045 Engine Suspn. Arm.

TORQUE RE-ACTION DAMPERS. LOP EB.2723.
Complete to above LOP - Standard Production.

When taking over the car, it was considered that there was insufficient restraint on the engine movement. The torque re-action dampers were removed and the poundage increased from 2 lbs to 6 lbs. The holes in the centre plates were elongated as they had fouled the bolts.

This engine mounting is a distinct advance over the standard Bentley mounting for smoothness & is well merited. On the other hand, it appears to allow more flexing of the frame but this did not prove detrimental to the road holding.

CRANKSHAFT. LOP EB.2700.
Existing, complete to above LOP - Standard Production.
EB.2687 Crankshaft V.C.M.

SPRING DRIVE. LOP EB.4639-4946 EB.2666 Increased Inertia.
Existing, complete to above LOP & Schemes incorporating:-
2 -EB.2829 Cotton Duck Washers.
RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}131 Mod to Front & Rear Damper Wheel.
Damping load set at 19 lbs at 17.1/2 rad.
Driving load set at 18 lbs at 17.1/2 rad.

The 1/2 and 3/4 crank periods were well damped and could only just be detected. They became rather more noticeable with the slack main bearings. The spring drive maintained its poundage but the driving faces were badly scored on the outer half of their width. The driven faces were well scored, but not so deeply. The cotton duck washers were in good condition and no other faults were apparent.

The crank pins were in good condition and showed very little wear. The main journals were not in good condition, these were badly worn and also grooved. The crankshaft is not hard enough for the Hall's metal (latest cast) main bearings.

CONNECTING RODS. LOP EB.2706 LeC.5095.
Existing, complete to above LOP & Schemes incorporating.
6 - EB.2926/7 Connecting Rods & Caps.
12- EB.2928 Bolts.
Big End Bearings in Hall's Metal.

Nº 6 Big end bearing failed at 10.768 miles.
The front flanges had broken away from the bearing shells. The bottom shell remained otherwise intact, but the top half had broken up into several pieces. All the bearing surfaces
