X4079 To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from KYC. c. By/Ds. c. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. Mr. Brock. EPG1/T2.2.23. X.4079 - RE GOSHAWK IGNITION COIL. X4575 In accordance with FG/M29.1.23 and FG/M31.1.23, would you kindly arrange to instruct Mr. Brock to make up three coils similar to his No.3 coil, to be handed over to the Expl. Dept. to be run on various experimental Goshawk cars in place of the present 40/50 coil, with the idea of being in a safe position for the standardisation of these coils with the complete new system. For your convenience we attach copy of Mr. Brock's own description of the construction of these coils. We would also like to query as to whether it is really necessary for there to be a round seating for the coil on the wheelcase, involving as it does, a new and expensive mould. Would it not be possible to have a square seating to take the coil cases, made with the present mould, with which, as you will see from Mr. Brock's note, a new plunger only is required? EFC. | ||
