Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. C.S. Steadman Re: Heaters With reference to the writer's call on you in regard to the above, we promised to let you have drawings of a smaller model, but unfortunately the details are not yet completed. We hope to let you have same early next week. We are quite certain now that we can considerably reduce the Heater in size so that it will be almost as small as your design. In the meantime we are enclosing you drawings of the existing design, also fan sub assembly complete with radiator, in case these are of interest to you. We notice on further examination of your drawing that the runner which delivers air for the demister obtains its supply of hot air from the air delivered through the core by the main fan. In the HaDees design the turbine blade takes its supply of air from a separate part of the radiator quite independent of the four-blade fan. We believe that this was necessary in America due to the cold conditions, but under-stand you find with your system that there is sufficient heat for both purposes. We are taking this point into consideration when developing our smaller design. Yours faithfully, p.p. S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED.
