1379 Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. W/P - Sr. PRESS RUN ON PAULIN BENTLEY. With reference to Sgl/E.3.1.39., we regret that our memo was not very clearly worded. The proposal is to tune up the car at Montlhery, and then to rehearse the road run without any Press men being present. The object of rehearsing the road run is to find the exact stretches to be used for consumption, maximum and average speeds, at the same time, the actual figures which it is expected to be able to reproduce will be obtained. These figures could be submitted to you before the final arrangements for any Press men were made. Incidentally, we have had a communication from Sr. saying that the job would be put back a week because Embiricos was in the South of France with his car, and it could not be obtained until the 5th instant. The date when preliminary tests should be completed, therefore, will be about January 25th. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
