Our Ref TS/HTB/MBL. 4th June 1936. Messrs Rolls Royce Limited., DERBY Attention Mr F.{Mr Friese} Ll Smith. Re 13 1/2" Driven Plates. Dear Sirs, As requested during your telephone conversation with our Mr Armitage to-day, we have pleasure in enclosing herewith Drawing No 41397/2 giving our assembly of 13 1/2" Driven Plates with the horse shoe slots all arranged in the outer position and with Ferodo No.6. Facings to the new dimensions and limits. We would also confirm that six sample No.6. Facings received from Ferodo with moulded rivet holes have been rejected by us, in as much as we find the thickness of the facings varying by as much as .025", and furthermore in certain instances we find same to be .010" above the top limit. We would also point out that the finish of the moulded holes is not up to our general expectations and the sample which was demonstrated to us by Mr Holmes. We are of course taking up these points with Messrs Ferodo, but thought that perhaps with the knowledge of the facts before you, you would be anxious to discuss the above points with Messrs Ferodo direct. It is impossible for us to supply you with sample Driven Plates, until we have some more Facings to the correct dimensions and finish. - contd- | ||
