-2- (10) The light in the boot is not coupled up. Unless this light can be made to switch on whenever the boot is opened it is not much good. We were able to comment favourable on the following features:- General smoothness and absence of fuss good. Freedom from detonation remarkable. Ride. The best we have had on an 8-cylinder car. Brakes. Not exceptionally effective but quite powerful enough for a chauffeur-driven car. Steering. Not entirely free from road shocks, but generally speaking stable and selective. It is clear that a lot of noise from the front suspension comes up the column and this is emphasised when the division is raised. FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} is going into the position of the pieces for insulating the column and we are sure that a good deal can be done by working on the dash with the volume of air behind the instrument board. We shall tackle this at a later date. Will you please arrange for a disc to be attached to each lot of keys saying what they are for. You should keep a duplicate set of keys in your office suitably marked so that we shall be in a position to supply spares if Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} loses his.
