EO.6 Type Watford Magnetos.

Please refer to By/Cgh{W Clough}8/Gll.10.26, Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}17/T1.12.26, EFC5/T2.12.26, EFC3/T7.12.26 and Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}9/T7.12.26.

In view of the report of Test Dept. that the cast aluminium cover over armature does not appear to present any advantage from a quietness point of view over the standard cover, we wrote North & Sons Ltd. on 14th inst. asking them to say whether they would prefer to continue to fit the sheet metal cover and present standard pick-up instead of the cast aluminium cover and modified pick-up and, in the affirmative case, to send us 3 sheet metal covers and 3 standard pick-ups for the 3 magnetos Nos.89458, 89479 and 94225 to restore them to standard pattern and promised to return to them the cast aluminium covers and modified pick-ups.

On Friday last, 17th inst. we discussed this matter with Mr.North & Mr.Allen and they decided to continue to fit the sheet metal cover and standard pick-up and have promised to send us the 3 sheet metal covers and 3 standard pick-ups to modify the 3 magnetos above referred to.

We have written North & Sons confirming this.
