X5661 MESSRS. ROLLS-ROYCE OF AMERICA INC. SPRINGFIELD, MASS. Btn-3 February 9th 1931. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. Derby, England. X5661/3. Attention : Mr. E.F. Clark. Dear Mr. Clark, Re : 25 HP. Generator. We acknowledge herewith your letter of January 30th and thank you for the information. Any information of this nature is of great value ot us and we appreciate it. In this particular case, however, it involves dismantling and remachining the pole pieces which would tie the car up for a rather longer time than is convenient. A far more satisfactory way would be to have one complete new generator which could be installed in a few minutes at any branch, and then the original generator could be sent back here for conversion. This would not put the car out of commission for more than a few days. We are referring the matter to our Maintenance Dept. as to the amount of trouble actually caused by these generators and will advise you later what we consider best. Yours very truly, (Sgd.)
