Dear Sirs, Further to the conversation with your Mr.Hives and Mr. Robotham which the writer had when at your works last week, we beg to inform you that we have now received the first models of our type AV48B carburetters from our works. The body drawing of this carburetter was left with you for your inspection, and we are glad to inform you that the total weight, including all levers, full mixture control with over-riding gear for closing throttle, as required in aircraft carburetters, comes out at 3 lbs. 3 ozs. Half the intake only is provided for in the casting, but we think that this weight is a satisfactory figure.
