X.4165 X3770/1 We do not consider that we are in a position yet to standardise the earthed wiring scheme on 6.EX Car. The design of that wiring scheme is not yet completed. In the first place we are using a Lucas Cutout. We know from experience that the Lucas Cutout is not entirely satisfactory and also we think it would be most unsatisfactory to rely or expect Lucas's to supply us with a cutout if we are going to use the Smith Dynamo and our own switchbox. so that before the Junction Box on 6.EX Car can be criticised completely, it should have incorporated in it a cutout which we are satisfied with and which we can obtain. There is no doubt that when we fit another type of cutout in the Junction Box it will mean several alterations to the details of the box. X.1354 X.1369 The design of the earthed wiring is also not yet completed as regards what we intend to do or recommend with reference to the type of bulbs and bulb holders. On 6.EX Car we had, at the last minute, to convert the standard Lucas Bulb holders to the earthed scheme. We do not consider that is very satisfactory especially when we consider that we leave it to our customers to buy any type of lamps or electrical accessories they choose. as the standard lamps or electricals obtainable in this country are all for the closed circuit it would mean altering all types of lamp holders.
