X.7535. VISIT OF MR. MCKINNON OF THE CHLORIDE CO.

In confirmation of the points discussed between Mr. McKinnon and ourselves during his recent visit, we have received from the Chloride Co. a letter of which the attached is a copy.

In regard to item 1, we have put this up to Mr. Bailey and asked him to arrange for this on production.

In regard to item 2, we are holding this in abeyance as it does not appear to be necessary to make any change at the moment.

In regard to item 3, we hope to receive from The National Accumulator Co. a drawing of their cell cover which we have requested from them and this will be forwarded to the Chloride Co. in due course.

In regard to item 4, we have already asked you to place on order a 6-volt unit from the Chloride Co. (also one from the National Accumulator Co.) incorporating two burnt up cell to cell connections but with present standard positive and negative terminals.

In regard to item 5, this referring to the 20 HP. battery (whereas items nos. 1, 2, 3 & 4 referred to Phantom II batteries), I have had a conversation with Mr. Day concerning general proposals for the 20 HP. battery and in view of the proposition to alter the scheme of this battery to two 6-volt units in which case the one piece moulded container would come about automatically, there is nothing further to be done in this matter until we receive design proposals from Mr. Day, but he promised to advise us of the position when the proposals for the easier removal and replacement of the battery on the chassis have taken shape.
