Attention of Mr.H.West.

Dear Sirs,

Further to ours of the 2nd August wherein we put forward the suggestion that you use the EMPIRE Electric Clock on your 20/25 HP chassis in addition to the 40/50 HP, we do not appear to have had the pleasure of hearing from you on this point.

Mr.West has raised this matter with us during his visit and we feel it our duty, knowing that the Empire Clock offers certain definite advantages over your present design, to strongly recommend its adoption on all your cars.

There is no question that if a motorist is offered the choice of an Electric or mechanically wound Clock he unquestionably decides in favour of the former. The only reason electric clocks have not been adopted as standard on cars is on account of the fact that they have not been satisfactory. We think, however, you will agree that the EMPIRE is a reliable article. Being automatically wound at frequent intervals the mainspring is maintained at uniform tension with a resultant even torque that ensures good time-keeping.
