X872⊕ To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Sports car Tests. BJ26/E4/11/27 Am I right in understanding that: 1. You are preparing to make a test on a special chassis for a sports car and that this will be the first chassis which will start to France for 10,000 miles test. 2. At present you aremodifying the old sports chassis which I tried at Frinton and that you will take this in about a week's time to West WitteringHenry Royce's home town and will then decide on the final design of the sports chassis. 3. You will them return to Derby and make the Sports chassis for the 10,000 miles test. 4. You will then fit the body which at present exists. This sounds to me many weeks if not months away before a car may start for France. I cannot think at present I understand the position clearly. Can you help me please? I had understood from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} a few days ago that it was expected the Sports chassis would be ready in about a week or ten days, and I was under the impression that this was thechassis which was going to France.
