Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
Derby.

Dear Sirs,

Order No. 58209.

We beg to acknowledge your letter of the 18th instant and note your remarks. These now clear up the points which we put to you but we find that there is one further point which we omitted to mention, and that is the shape of the interior recess.

Your section view on the left hand top corner gives a dimension of .1" on the interior recess, measured from the top. The section itself, however, is taken across the corners of the hexagon recess and we are assuming that if the section was taken across the flats it would show a bevel of a depth of .1" as sketch herewith. Will you please confirm that this interpretation is correct.

Meanwhile we are, of course, proceeding with the tool making.

Yours faithfully,
For BIRKBYS LIMITED.
